Welcome

My earnest hope for all who stop by here is to meet and then grow in the knowledge of the matchless God of all creation and to create in the reader an unquenchable thirst for more of Him in all His Glorious Majesty the real Author of all we see and know and the Finisher of our Faith…

“As the deer longs for streams of water,
So I long for you, O God!” (Psalm 42:1)

Insights

Since the 1960’s, our nation has been going through spiritual and emotional convulsions over who we are as a people. These convulsions have negatively impacted our culture; our private and public behaviors have become coarse, even vulgar. We seem incapable of registering shame or embarrassment over the most horrific of behaviors. One of the most obvious reasons for this is that we have, as a nation, turned our back on the God who established us as a Federal Republic through our Founding Fathers. We seem not to care about being a righteous people. We have given up going to church; the percentage of citizens who claim to be Christ-following Christians has become quite small. We have kicked God out of our schools and courts; surely you see the connection…

We have diminished the importance of integrity and character and good solid family values in the teaching of our children as they move toward adulthood. Being a person who is humble, or disciplined, or forgiving, or respectful, or prayerful is denigrated. The concepts of being an encourager of others, or being responsible for your own actions, or being tough-minded and courageous about doing the right thing for the right reason, or even being merciful to someone in need have become alien to us as a people, a nation. We have become selfish and self-centered. Being gentle in all we do, or being involved in the lives of others for their good without thought of personal gain are concepts that are alive, but not as widespread as they once were. We must go back to the basics.

Words Along The Way is designed to help us do just that.
